‘Under A Heavy Sun’ EP
It’s here! The debut EP is available now on iTunes & Amazon. Six tracks of psychedelic-pop, it’s pretty full-on. Part Two (see below) is a little more chilled. Hopefully my friend Chelsi won’t kill me for using her legs in the top left corner of the cover….
The tracklisting is as follows:
1. The Kraken
2. Eyeball Kick
3. Scream Light
4. New York (Part Two) feat. Bettina
5. Two Riders
6. The One I Chose to Love

Sensational haul from Oxfam Vintage in Durham. They’ve got a great collection of vinyl in really good condition. Managed to drag myself away with these beauties:
Graceland - Paul Simon (classic - great documentary on last night too)
20 Golden Greats - Buddy Holly
Greatest Hits - Simon & Garfunkel
Born In The USA - Bruce Springsteen (check my ‘I’m On Fire’ cover version below)
The Beatles Ballads (never seen this before - amazing cover by Patrick Byrne)
True Blue - Madonna (remember my sister insisting on this being played in the family car many years ago)
Cracking little haul and all for just £18!
“I can feel the earth begin to move
I feel my needle hit the groove
And spiral through another day
I hear my song begin to say
Kiss me where the sun don’t shine
The past was yours but the future’s mine
You’re all out of time”
Into the Black
Adore this Chromatics cover of the Neil Young classic. It’s track one on their album ‘Kill For Love’ and I strongly urge you to get it if you enjoyed the Drive soundtrack.
“It’s better to burn out than fade away”
But you know I know when it’s a dream
“I’m On Fire” [Live] by Your Explosion My Mind
Recorded live at Transmission Studios in Brighton, this Bruce Springsteen track has always been one of my favourites. Ali Gavan (Sparrow) guests on guitar.
Shake Yer Rattlesnake
It’s been a shit week so far. So I thought I’d upload this - it was recorded live in the studio (bar a few overdubs), it’s not being released or anything. It just makes me want to move, which has gotta be a good thing. Shake shake shake or quietly go insane I think. It’s dumb and stupid and rock n roll and it has a wolf howl. What more do you blood-suckers want?!
I See You
Ian Skelly
Beautiful, dark, melancholic & psychedelic track from Ian Skelly. Like winding through the forest past the witching hour.
‘Eyeball Kick’ is released 30th July on split 7” vinyl. It’s a limited edition, individually numbered release via the Numbskull HQ imprint, and available in independent UK record stores (as well as for pre-order here.)
“Oh my lord. From the ridiculous to the utterly sublime. From the surging drums to the Kitchen of Distinction (go on, look them up) wall of shimmering sound, Eyeball Kick grabbed Clive and I by our love truncheons and refused to let go. Not that this is all sheen and no substance. The song propels ever skywards from it’s launch pad up to second stage boosters on that chorus and finally out of earth’s gravitational pull with the guitar. There’s so much energy I could run Hood Island’s essential amenities off it. Bravo! (4 Stars)”
- Eyeball Kick review from ‘Eartwister’
You’re A Big Girl Now - Bob Dylan
One of the best heart-break songs ever, from one of the best albums ever.

The War on Drugs in Brighton this summer. Blur your eyes….bit of a ‘Dark Knight’ vibe going on…
